The coach of Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez, spoke after the semi-final match of the “Copa Del Rey” against Athletic Bilbao, which the Catalans lost 4-2.
The 44-year-old technician did not deny the fact that he may leave the management of the team, due to poor results:
“I am disappointed with the result. We played well against a very strong team at home. We must find the strength to reorganize for the remaining 2 trophies, La Liga and the Champions League. I have said it and I am repeating it again. If Barca is not competitive until the end of the season, I will leave,” the coach declared.
Despite the defeat in the cup, Xavi is satisfied with the performance of the academy players. The coach emphasized the fact that the team is under construction: “It is the beginning of something important, Barcelona has a good future ahead of it. I am proud of the performances of the young players”.
