Real Madrid have also reacted following the statements of the president of the French Football Federation, Noël Le Graët, regarding Zinedine Zidane – with the latter thought to be Didier Deschamps’ replacement in charge of the French national team.
Le Graët stated in an interview in “RMC” that he does not care about Zidane’s future plans, adding that if the former coach of Real Madrid had called him, he would not have answered.
The statement of the president of the FFF has not been well received by the French fans and not only.
Real Madrid, a club in which Zidane is one of the legends, has recently reacted to this.
The Spanish club has asked Le Graët to immediately withdraw from the words given.
“Real Madrid CF regrets the statements made by the president of the French Football Federation, Nöel Le Graët, about Zinedine Zidane, one of the greatest legends of world sport. These words mean disrespect to one of the most admired figures by football fans around the world and our club expects an immediate correction. Zinedine Zidane, world champion and European champion who defends his country’s shirt, among many other titles, also represents the values of sport and has proven this throughout his professional career as a player and as a coach. The statements of the president of the French Football Federation are inappropriate for someone who has that representation and disqualifies himself, as he also does for our captain Karim Benzema, the current Ballon d’Or, Nations League champion with France in 2021 and the winner of the 5th Champions League, among many other titles”, says the reaction of Real Madrid.
