Barcelona’s sporting director, Matheu Alemany, has left open the possibility of Memphis Depay leaving in the January transfer window.
Xavi has insisted he doesn’t want anyone to leave, but if there’s one player likely to do so, the Dutch forward could be it.
Depay is at the bottom of the table in terms of Barcelona’s attacking options.
Speaking to “Sport”, Alemany praised the 28-year-old, but did not rule out the possibility of him leaving.
“Will see. He is an exceptional player and no one will be redundant. He has a lot of qualities… I can’t predict things,” he initially said.
“We are satisfied with the team we have made. It is deep and diverse, but we are aware and attentive to everything, although there is no urgency.”
Depay’s contract with Barcelona expires at the end of the current season.
