Christian Pulisic will be a “perfect” player for Arsenal after Gabriel Jesus is out with injury, says former Gunners star Emmanuel Pettit
Mikel Arteta is expected to dive into the January transfer market to bolster the attack after his Brazilian number 9 underwent knee surgery. Various targets have been mentioned as names for the Premier League giants, but Petit believes the best option would be to lure the misfit, the American who plays on the other side of London for Chelsea.
“You saw Pulisic playing like a rejuvenated footballer at the World Cup. He was very good for the USA and deserves to start at another club. I think he is exactly the type of player Arsenal need. Now that Gabriel Jesus is out I think he would be a great option. Like Hakim Ziyech, I see his head is not for Chelsea at the moment they look very weak, it’s time for them to leave because they deserve it,” Petit told Football Betting.
“They need reinforcements during the market. There is also talk about Gonzalo Ramos who has already scored a hat-trick against Switzerland, but I think it is too early for him. He did not have the same impact with Morocco. No headers, few runs, didn’t release well. Zaha from Palace, Saint-Maximin from Newcastle or Pulisic from Chelsea would be the trio I would have been looking for. Pulisic would be perfect for Arteta’s wishes, he wants to play football with one touch, he has free movement and he lives in London so it would be an easy transition,” said Petit, who won the Premier League and FA Cup as was at Arsenal.
Arsenal – who are top of the Premier League and likely to end the year as leaders for the first time since 2007 – are back in action against West Ham on December 26.
