Olmo want to go back to Spain, declaring, “Barcelona will always be my home.”

Dani Olmo has said that he wants to return to play in Spain.

The footballer, who emerged from Barcelona’s youth team, left La Masia at the age of 15 to join Dinamo Zagreb, before moving to Leipzig in 2020.

However, links to a return to Spain, where Olmo has never played professionally, have always persisted. In an interview for “BILD”, Olmo put aside a question about his future.

“I have a contract until 2024. Right now I don’t think about it, only about the next games. We have three races ahead. Things happen so fast in football, things can change all the time. I have my advisor who takes care of that. I only focus on football”, he said initially.

The 24-year-old further said that he wants to return to Spain.

“I want to go back to Spain one day, that would be great. It’s my country, my league. My family and friends live there. But, I am not only connected with Spain. The most important thing for me is to play in a club where I feel loved and important. Like here in Leipzig”, said the footballer with offensive features.

“I played for Barcelona for six years when I was young. It will always be a home for me. Many of my friends from the national team play there”, declared Olmo.

The representative of Spain with Leipzig has a valid contract until June 30, 2024.
