Milan is preparing a new contract for the hero of France, Giroud

Olivier Giroud has continued to score crucial goals for France in the World Cup, so Milan are preparing to extend the 36-year-old’s contract.

The striker broke through into the Blues squad as a starter as centre-forward, due to his good form in Serie A and the injury of Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benema.

He has scored three goals at the World Cup, including the first goal in the 3-1 win against Poland.

It was his 52nd goal for France, making him the top goalscorer for his country, which was held by Thierry Henry.

This only confirms Giroud’s form in Milan, where he has scored nine goals and made five assists in 19 games this season in Serie A and the Champions League.

His contract with Milan is coming to an end this season, but before his achievements in the World Cup in Qatar, there were plans in Milan for him to extend his contract.

La Gazzetta dello Sport writes that now the pressure of the Reds has increased because he has offers from MLS teams and the United Arab Emirates, which offer large salaries that the Italian team cannot.
