Marotta very disappointed in Lukaku, the Belgian’s future a mystery

The Belgian striker has left a bad taste for Beppe Marotta as he seems to have rejected a return to Inter and is looking for a move to Juventus

Inter Milan director Marotta has expressed his disappointment with Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who turned down the chance to return to the club and reports say he has reached an agreement with Juventus.

Marotta spoke to Radio Serie A on Monday morning and talked about Inter’s plans in this market.

“There are some objectives that you think you will achieve, but in the end they don’t happen”, he said when he spoke about the failure of Lukaku’s transfer.

“I can say that Lukaku has disappointed me a lot. I don’t know where he will go now, there are not many options left, but I don’t think he will return to Italy, there are only 10 days left in the market”.

Striker Joaquin Correa has opted to leave the San Siro, prompting Inter to look for reinforcements for the new season. Their target, Lazar Samardzic and Gianluca Scamacca opted to sign with other Serie A teams, moving to Udinese and Atalanta.

“He (Correa) wanted to play and we didn’t ignore that. Piero Ausilio is working on this aspect. Alexis Sanchez is a great champion, he has sent us messages back and that is positive,” he added.

Having earned maximum points in the first leg of Serie A, Inter will travel to play next Monday against Cagliari, a team that returned to Serie A this season.
