The Bayern Munich winger has started running, a major step in his comeback from injuring his right leg in early November.
Mane suffered a serious injury to his right tibia on November 8, and has since had surgery on it. The Senegalese’s return was expected to take place in 10-12 weeks and he is on schedule after the club made an announcement that their star has started running while also losing weight.
Bayern have found themselves with few options in the New Year. They are without key players such as Mane, Manuel Neuer, Noussair Mazraoui and Lucas Hernandez, with the game against Paris Saint-Germain awaiting them on February 14.
The Bundesliga leaders signed Mane from Liverpool in the summer for €41 million and hope he will lead them to trophies in the 2022/23 season.
The Senegalese striker is expected to recover in the coming weeks, where he is expected to be ready for Bayern in both the Bundesliga and Champions League matches.
