The Reds have made it two consecutive wins without conceding a goal ahead of their match against Real Madrid in the Round of 16 at Anfield
Liverpool’s last week has been their best in 2023. The Reds, who have been embroiled in a mini-crisis (with one win in seven games), have languished in mid-table and been knocked out of two cups in the new year, they have already woken up in time to face Real Madrid in the 1/8 finals of the Champions League.
The English club have recorded back-to-back wins against Everton and Newcastle and have increased their chances of finishing in the top four in the Premier League.
“It’s too early to say we’re back but we’re fighting like we did when we were bad but we now have two wins in a row,” Liverpool coach Jurgen Klopp said after the win against Newcastle. We feel good. It’s been a long time since we achieved that.”
Cody Gakpo has scored in the last two games while Mohamed Salah and Darwin Nunez have also scored against Everton and Newcastle, contributing goals. The trio will form an attacking trident against Carlo Ancelotti’s men with Liverpool hosting his side with in-form strikers including Fabinho, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Jordan Henderson and Andy Robertson.
