Xavi Hernandez has admitted that he too needs to improve if they want to register successes outside football in Spain as a team.
Since his appointment as Barcelona coach, the club recorded success in Spain, but not in the Champions League and Europa League.
And, Xavi in an interview for “Marca” was asked if he was feeling pressure to improve the results.
“Me? Yes, always, I have to prove myself in every match, this is Barca. We’re all under tremendous pressure, but it’s a challenge and I like challenges. They are challenges that I have set myself as a coach and as a team. Convince the players and convey enthusiasm to them so that they give everything,” he said.
Xavi also pointed out that if they had the same form, both in La Liga and in the Champions League, his team would be better.
“I have been positive since birth. I don’t know if it is a virtue or a defect. I’m excited, maybe we should stop the euphoria. We have done things well [against Betis], but now we have to prove ourselves every three days”, declared the Spanish coach, among other things.
The 43-year-old took charge of Barcelona in November 2021. He led the “Blaugranes” to the title of champion last season (2022/23), as well as to triumph in the Spanish Super Cup.
