For over two months, Pulisic was not on the field

Graham Potter has confirmed that Christian Pulisic will be out for “nearly two months”, with Raheem Sterling also expected to be out indefinitely.

Pulisic played just 22 minutes in City’s 1-0 Premier League defeat at Stamford Bridge last week when he picked up a knee injury. Raheem Sterling also left due to injury, with the duo joining injured footballers Wesley Fofana, Reece James and Armando Broja on the treatment table. After several days of analysis, Potter has now confirmed that the two attackers will be out of the field, while he will be able to count entirely on Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

“Pierre is fine and will be in the team. Christian Pulisic we think will be out for two months. Raheem less, hopefully, much less than this,” the Chelsea coach told reporters.

Asked if he is feeling the pressure of Chelsea’s terrible form since the end of the World Cup, with just one game won in four, Potter assured that he is in constant contact with the owners and feels he has the full support of theirs. “I have constant conversations with all the owners and they are very supportive. We talk two or three times a week, I can confirm. Footballers who are not ready have spoiled our real picture. I don’t think we are as far as it is being seen from the outside,” he said.

The Blues will be in action on Thursday against Fulham in a valuable Premier League away game.
