Confirmed by the president of PSG, talks with Messi on the new contract will start after his return

Lionel Messi will think of nothing but celebration once he returns to Argentina, holding the World Cup trophy in his arms.

However, once he returns to Paris, he will be faced with an important decision about his future.

Speaking after the World Cup final, Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi explained that the sides will discuss the future.

“I don’t want to say anything about Leo, we have an agreement to talk after the World Cup”, he said to “Sport”.

It remains to be seen if any agreement will be reached between the parties to renew the contract.

Messi’s current contract with the Parisians expires in the summer of next year.

The 35-year-old has been repeatedly linked with a possible return to Barcelona and a move to David Beckham’s club, Inter Miami.
