Manchester United will have more funds at their disposal than Manchester City and Newcastle as tech giants Apple look to buy him
Tech giants Apple are interested in buying Manchester United for £5.8 billion.
United’s owners, the Glazers, have decided to sell the club – as the fans are the ones who are constantly protesting against them.
The American billionaires will sell the club to the highest bidder and Apple bosses have expressed a desire to discuss an eventual takeover deal.
Apple is the world’s largest technology company, with annual revenue of around £326 million and had a turnover this month of £2 trillion.
The California-based company has no experience of owning football clubs of United’s size.
But, CEO, Tim Cook is looking at the possibilities of being the owner of United and will start talks with the banks involved to look at its purchase, which are part of “The Raine Group”. Part of Cook’s plan is to include Apple financing a state-of-the-art stadium that would be the best in the world.
If Apple reaches a deal to buy him, United will be the richest club in the world.
Apple’s value is twice that of the owners of Manchester City, Newcastle and Paris Saint-Germain.
The Glazers bought United in 2005 but since then they have not been popular with the “Red Devils”.
The turning point came after the club was involved in Europe’s failed Super League and the criticism that followed. The Glazers will spend the next month in talks with interested parties making a shortlist of buyers, including British billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
