Real Madrid will play the first quarterfinal match of the Champions League tomorrow night.
“Los Blancos” will face Chelsea in one of the main challenges of this phase.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti says that the fans can see a spectacular match at the “Santiago Bernabeu”, but that it will not be decisive for qualifying for the semi-finals.
“Tomorrow’s match is not decisive. It can give him an edge to better manage the return game. We are enthusiastic. We want another magical night at the Bernabeu,” said Ancelotti at the press conference today.
“Chelsea have a super-team, they are not having fun, but this can be the main motive at the moment, which can force them to give their best. I’m sad about their situation, it’s clear, because I had fun there and had a great time. I’m a Chelsea fan, of course”, continued Ancelotti, who has no intention of returning to the “Blues”, meanwhile wishing success to the new coach, Franck Lampard.
Regarding the team’s return to form at the crucial moments of the season, Ancelotti said:
“If we come back it is because we have more energy and confidence. The game ends when the referee blows, Boskov said. We played better than others”, added “DonCarlo”.
He was also asked about an eventual final between Real and Milan in Istanbul, where the “Rossoneri” were defeated by Liverpool in the unforgettable final of the Champions League in 2005.
“For me and Paolo (Maldin), Istanbul is not a good memory (laughs). It would be fantastic”, concluded Ancelotti.
