The Real Madrid coach has praised Jose Mourinho for his achievements with a club like AS Roma.
Ancelotti applauded Mourinho’s achievements with a club like Roma despite the Giallorossi not being considered an elite side in Europe.
The Portuguese led Roma to their first European trophy in more than 60 years in his first season and the club also came close to winning the Europa League last year but lost in the final against Sevilla.
“He has been successful even though the Giallorossi are not considered the best team. It’s no surprise because Mourinho is an honest person and a great coach, so he makes an amazing connection with the fans, which is positive,” Ancelotti said in an interview with Radio Serie A.
Having managed Roma for two seasons, the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss had two good financial offers from Saudi Arabia this summer, but he turned them down as he wants to continue in Serie A.
After sitting out Roma’s opener against Salernitanas due to suspension, Mourinho will return to the bench for his club’s second leg against Hellas Verona.
