La Liga

Crucial week for Real, starting with Dortmund and then Barcelona

The schedule is rarely so “friendly” and combines three games that are played at home despite their complexity. Real Madrid has experienced this over this stretch of the season, when their performance is much below expectations.
Real Madrid will play duels at the “Bernabeu” against Borussia Dortmund (tonight), Barcelona, and Milan in the next days. Playing in front of the home crowd is nearly always advantageous, thus this problem might be advantageous from the start, but it could also become a boomerang if it does not work out.

In fact, it will be simple for them to have complaints, disappointments, and whistleblowers if they keep up the level that the squad has demonstrated in recent weeks and, more importantly, if they are not supported by results. Real Madrid must thus pass a third exam, with even higher expectations.

The outcomes and emotions at the end of the year will be greatly influenced by what transpires, particularly in “El Clasico,” where Barcelona will also be confident due to their remarkable championship advancement. Carlo Ancelotti, however, is the only person in Madrid who is accustomed to this strain. The Italian, who is constantly experimenting with his eleven in an attempt to get better, wants to improve and, if the game is still bad, at least win.
