Football will be without another legend, Iniesta is retiring

Barcelona and Spain legend Andres Iniesta will retire from football at the age of 40.

The veteran midfielder has been a free player for a few months after his last experience with the Emirates FC team, and now he has decided to end his career as a professional.

Iniesta is one of the biggest and most loved players in Spain, while with the “Red Storm” he won the World Cup and was the protagonist with the goal scored in extra time in the final.

Also, he was a key player in Spain’s triumphs in Euro 2008 and Euro 2012.

He ended his experience with the National Team after scoring 14 goals and making 131 appearances, becoming the fifth player with the most appearances for Spain after Sergio Ramos, Iker Casillas, Sergio Busquets and Xavi Hernandez.

Iniesta is expected to formalize his retirement decision on October 8.

He is known as one of the best players in the history of football.

In total, he has won the Champions League four times, La Liga nine times, the Copa del Rey six times, the Club World Cup three times, the Spanish Super Cup seven times and the European Super Cup three times.

Iniesta played 674 games with Barcelona, ??with which he scored 57 goals and assisted 135 times in the period 2002-2018.

He then spent five years at Vissel Kobe in Japan making 134 appearances and contributing 26 goals and 25 assists before moving to Dubai last year.

There he scored 5 goals and made one assist in 23 appearances.

Iniesta’s career will end with impressive statistics of 1,016 games played, of which 107 goals were scored and 191 assists were given.
