Trying to conduct his post-match interview in a media tent outside the Stadium de Toulouse, Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp was unnerved by the noise from the home fans.
“We were as organized as this press conference – quite chaotic,” Klopp fumed, as Toulouse supporters cheered and punched the tent.
Just two weeks after a 5-1 win at Anfield against a side just one point above the Ligue 1 relegation play-off places, the Reds put in a poor performance in a 3-2 defeat.
Klopp said the main reason for the defeat was their performance.
“We weren’t aggressive enough,” he said. “We gave the balls away easily, real mistakes. With all the possession you have, you obviously need to create more, but you can’t concede three goals here, it doesn’t make sense. They fought harder and it was deserved, congratulations to Toulouse,” said the German coach.
