AC Milan got an easy victory in the first match of Serie A as a guest of Bologna. Pioli’s team did the work in the first half to get their first win of the season. Giroud (11′) and Pulisic (21′) scored the goals for the Reds
A very good start for AC Milan of the new season by beating Thiago Mottas’ team, Bologna.
The home side started the match much better, with Charalampos Lykogiannis hitting the post in the opening minutes of the match. It would have been a beautiful goal if it had been scored.
But Milan recovered quickly.
Christian Pulisic penetrated well on the right side of the field to pass Reijnders who returned the ball to the French striker Olivier Giroud who scored a beautiful goal in the 11th minute.
Bologna’s Lewis Ferguson came very close to equalizing the score in the 15th minute when he received a good ball in the box but he failed to score despite having an ideal opportunity to do so.
After this occasion, Pulisic scored perhaps the best goal of his career.
He took a shot from outside the area to score a super goal in the 21st minute of the match.
AC Milan was close to score the third goal and for this Giroud had the ideal opportunity in the 28th minute, but the Frenchman did not hit strong enough to beat goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski.
Ndoye would have the next opportunity for Bologna to equalize the result in the 60th minute, but his attempt ends up outside the Milan gate.
There were no more chances until the 90th minute. Milan’s Leao had the last chance to score but failed to do so as the ball went too far past Bologna’s left post.
With this victory, AC Milan moves to fifth place with three points after the first round.
