The prospect of a treble for Manchester City has raised hopes that Erling Haaland will commit to a longer contract at the Etihad Stadium this summer.
The Norwegian striker arrived for the start of the season but is under new terms to make it even more difficult for Real Madrid to launch Operation Haaland and bring in the player who has scored 52 goals this season.
There is confidence in City that an extension has a strong chance of being achieved, given Haaland’s happiness at the club.
His contract signed last year following his £51.2million move from Borussia Dortmund was around £400,000 a week until 2027, meaning he has four more seasons on his current contract.
