Barcelona are determined to strengthen their squad for next season, despite their precarious financial situation.
According to “Mundo Deportivo”, the Catalan club is considering the possibilities of making a move for Xavi Simons.
The Dutchman left Barcelona in 2019 to join Paris Saint-Germain, while he has been part of PSV Eindhoven since the summer of last year.
Barca are hoping that the presence of Jordi Cruyff, who is the club’s sporting director, can convince Simons to make the switch to the Camp Nou, although it all depends on finances, as well as reports that PSG are also interested in reuniting with the former – their player.
Simons has excelled since joining PSV and a return to Barcelona could be the next big step in his career.
The 19-year-old with the Dutch club has a valid contract until the summer of 2027.
