William Saliba is expected to be sidelined for several weeks.
“L’Equipe” has reported that the French defender will be absent for several weeks, without specifying the time of return, due to a back injury he suffered in the match against Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League.
Obviously, this is not good news at all for Premier League leaders Arsenal, as Saliba has been irreplaceable this season in Mikel Arteta’s line-up.
This injury will cause the 21-year-old to miss the qualifying matches for the European Championship “Euro 2024” with France.
The Gunners centre-back was selected by Didier Deschamps for this month’s games against Ireland and the Netherlands, but it is now believed that he will withdraw from the French national team.
