Real Madrid and Barcelona have often competed to sign different footballers.
One of them is Rodrygo, who in 2019 signed with the club from the Spanish capital.
The Brazilian striker, in a recent interview for “Goal”, admitted that he was close to moving to “Camp Nou”, despite the fact that he loved Real Madrid.
He said that it was a surprise for him when he found out that “Los Blancos” have also entered the competition, adding that for him it was one of the best moments in his career.
“When my father told me the news… I always tell this story. I had two shirts: one for Barca and one for Real Madrid and I had to choose. It was very easy for me to choose. Everything was agreed with Barcelona. It was a surprise for me, I didn’t expect Real Madrid to enter. It was one of the happiest moments of my life”, declared Rodrygo.
The 22-year-old has so far made 140 appearances for Real Madrid in all competitions, scoring 28 goals and providing 27 assists.
He also counts seven trophies won with the club from Madrid.
