England assistant Steve Holland likes Jude Bellingham’s “unique” Messi-like style and thinks a move to the Premier League would do him good
Bellingham has caught the eye the most during this World Cup in Qatar, with his performances going beyond the goals scored and assists he has made. Holland, who has worked for the likes of Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte and was part of Chelsea’s 2012 Champions League-winning side as part of the coaching staff, has compared the 19-year-old’s mentality to Argentina star Messi and said he must accept the “challenge” called the Premier League if he wants to grow more at Borussia Dortmund.
Bellingham’s performances in Qatar have boosted his market value, with Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser Al-Khelaifi recently expressing an interest in him. On the field, his contribution in front of the gate but also in the construction of the game has made Gareth Southgate’s team more clinical in front of the goal, as England is the team that has scored the most goals, 12, in four games.
For now, Bellingham will be focused on just one team as England face perhaps the biggest test of Southgate’s tenure when they take on world champions France on Saturday, who also have a superstar, young man called Kylian Mbappe and he is in great shape.
