Olivier Giroud has started this role leading France with his two goals scored in the World Cup and breaking the record for goals in this National team, but one footballer who predicted this was his Milan team-mate Zlatan Ibrahimovic
Before Karim Benzema was injured and Giroud was not the first choice as a center forward in Qatar, Ibra has supported his friend on this.
Interviewed by 4-3-3 at the Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai on November 17, the Swede predicted that Giroud will be the top scorer and of course the best player at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
“He is still young. If I say young, it means that I am also young”, the 41-year-old said in the end with humor.
Giroud has become the oldest player to score for France at the World Cup, he is 37 years old.
