Newcastle United and Al-Nassr alternatives for Cristiano Ronaldo

The long feud between Ronaldo and United had an unpleasant end.

Cristiano Ronaldo’s second deal at Manchester United came to an end, with a brief statement made yesterday by the Premier League club.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will leave Manchester United by mutual agreement, with immediate effect,” this statement began briefly.

“The club thanks him for his outstanding contribution at Old Trafford, where he scored 145 goals in 346 appearances, and wishes him and his family all the best for the future.”

“Everyone at Manchester United remains focused on the team’s progress under Erik ten Hag and we are working together to achieve success on the pitch.”

Possible move to Newcastle or Al Nassr?

There are many clubs who are interested in signing the Portuguese striker. Among them Newcastle United who have an unlimited budget, so they are a serious candidate to transfer him and their manager Eddie Howe is believed to have approved the move.

But Ronaldo has always made it clear that he wants to play in the Champions League and the Magpies aren’t even in Europe. However, they are currently in the top four and could qualify for the Champions League next season.

Cristiano’s future lies in England or Saudi Arabia, which seem to be his most likely destinations. The Portuguese is split between Newcastle and Al-Nassr, clubs that share the same owner, Mohammed Bin Salman, who is the crown prince of Saudi Arabia.
