Mason Mount is targeted by Liverpool and Juventus.

Chelsea and England midfielder Mason Mount, who has just 18 months left on his current contract and has yet to start talks over an extension, has alerted several teams in Europe.

Liverpool and Juventus are the two teams that are closely monitoring Mason Mount’s future, as talks between Chelsea and the English midfielder to extend a new contract have been interrupted due to the World Cup.

Mount’s contract expires in 18 months and his situation has led to several clubs looking at the possibility of luring him away from Stamford Bridge. The 23-year-old has been in talks with Chelsea since the summer, but there are no signs of progress, with negotiations not expected to resume until January.

Chelsea’s owners are not interested in losing Mount, who has been linked with the club since the start of his career, and they are optimistic that negotiations will end positively. Mount has been seen as the next Chelsea captain and the hierarchy want to reward him for his performances with a much improved contract.

However, there have been indications that the contract is not guaranteed. Mount is currently one of the lowest paid players in the first team and wants the new contract to reflect his status as one of the most important players in Graham Potter’s squad. The first offers were much lower than his expectations.

Thus, Mount, seen as one of the Premier League’s best young talents over the past three years, has attracted interest from Juventus and Liverpool, who are looking to refresh their midfields.

Manchester City have also been linked with a move for Mount, who is praised by his coaches for his ability on the ball, his versatility and tactical intelligence. Will he continue to stay in the Premier League or go to Italy by joining Juventus, who have had a bad start to the season, that remains to be seen.
